When asked to make penguin cupcakes for a girls birthday, I remembered a picture I saw in a cupcake decorating book. But I wanted to be a little more original than that! I just watched Happy Feet the other day and all I could think about was them sliding down the mountian. These little guys are made out of fondant that I colored black. The birthday girl requested red velvet cake... something I have never made or even tried myself. I made it from scratch using a Martha Stewart recipe, then cream cheese frosting and coconut to make it look like snow. I wish I had made an extra one to try myself!

Minnie Mouse
Can you get any cuter than Minnie Mouse? These were almost too cute to give away!
I just love the bows on both the pops and cupcakes. Possibly the cutest thing ever made out of sugar!
Snowflakes!
I couldn't resist doing some white on white snowflake cupcakes. I had ideas to go even more elaborate, but unfortunately these were made for a funeral that my service group was serving at. I thought a funeral isn't really the time for super fancy cupcakes! My favorite part of all though is the plate. I bought it this summer and only now found a purpose for it!
Colorful and crazy cake pops!
These were for a young girl's birthday party. Totally reminds me of myself at that age. Everything was colorful and fun!
Little Deer
I thought and thought for a couple weeks about how I could make cupcakes look like deer. I saw some in a magazine but they were just the faces. I wanted an actual deer! I combined what the magazine did with the face with a cake pop and a cupcake...
and then of course added a little white tail!

Just a couple holiday suggestions!
Here's a couple ideas for gift giving this holiday season! First, imagine this cake pop as a cute Christmas decorated pop. Then you wrap it with celophane and tie a cute (red) bow on it. These make a great gift for people like teachers, neighbors, co workers etc, sunday school students. You can't go wrong with something cute and tasty on a stick!
Next, you can take that same Christmas cake pop (or probably a few), place them in a box with Christmas tissue paper, pop the pops in the mail, and let USPS take care of the rest. I've already tested shipping cake pops and my Granny in Kentucky said they arrived in perfect condition! A great, inexpensive, one of a kind gift for friends and family out of state!

Cupcake Pops!
Who could resist a mini cupcake on a stick with sprinkles? I tried a peanut butter cake recipe which was fantastic. Stay tuned for more posts later this week... I've got lots of orders with fun ideas!
